Brazil, as a continental size country and with huge contrasts, demands an extensive use of information and telecommunication technology to promote quality health to its almost 200 M inhabitants. Starting in 2006, the Health Department of Minas Gerais State sponsored the Minas Telecardio Project, a Cardiology Telehealth System implemented in 82 remote villages. After one year operation, it was possible to identify its problems as well as its success factors. As a final conclusion it is possible to say that a telehealth project must start focusing in a specific and important local health problem. The success of the use in a specific subject can lead to a most amplified use of the system.
